Fusion Pop singer Malayka, formerly known as Malak Sound, draws her music inspiration from her experiences as an Egyptian-Canadian, and bridges the gap between Western and Middle Eastern pop culture. Raised in Egypt and now living in Canada, she has toured Canada three times, the Middle East twice, and was a contestant The Voice Middle East. Malak has also opened for Sarah Thawer, P!nk, Massar Egbari, Mahmoud El Esseily and played multiple Canadian music festivals.
“[Malayka] filled the room with her incredible, multi-octave voice, accompanying herself on keyboard to a song that evoked the epic scope of Lady Gaga mixed with the artistic sensibility of Kate Bush. The emotion in her voice was spine-tingling.” – Lynn Saxberg Ottawa CitizenThe Voice Middle East Season 5 (2019)
